After all that nasty business had been taken care with the Tokyo Police and Daniel had been cleared of all charges, he finally got to enjoy his vacation.
Since it was Halloween, he of course needed to do something extra special. He had heard rumor of an old abandoned amusement park called "HEART LAND" just outside of Tokyo and decided to investigate.
It just wasn't Halloween without putting the old brain and nerves to do a test with a good old fashioned ghost hunt.

For some reason, Sae was dragged into the hunt by the foreigner after the last incident. Seeing as they knew that they were both Riders, he was insistent that she come along, though clearly she wasn't very enthusiastic about it. "Hey... why are we here exactly? You know there aren't such things as ghosts..."
"On the contrary," Daniel said, turning to her, "If there is such a thing as creatures that can actually slowdown the world around them, what's to say that ghosts don't exist as well?"
He was dressed for the occasion as a Ghostbuster, Egon specifically, and was wearing the custom Proton Pack he had part of the summer building from old vacuum cleaners.
The locked gate of HEARTLAND loomed ominously before them, a sign reading "Closed Forever" in Kanji.
"Bring any pliers or a crowbar?"

"I was half expecting you to bring all of that," she commented. Unlike him, her costume was less fitting for the occasion, being dressed as a pretty, pretty princess. However, in lieu of heels, she wore her usual shoes under the dress, in case any running needed to be done. "This is normally the part where I stop you and say trespassing is illegal, but Heart Land hasn't been open for some time, so I don't think we have any jurisdiction."
"Good to hear!" Daniel shouted as he began to scale the fence, already making it half there before Sae could notice, "I'd rather not get arrested a second time."
He made it all the way and hoped onto the ground, getting his suit a little dirty.
"You coming?"

"Surely there was an easier way..." she muttered before going into Tridoron to take out her bokken. She then entered the gate and looked around. "Well, it seems to be empty... Then again, I've seen some people hang out in places like these back in high school...."
"Sounds like a tragedy," Sae deadpanned. "A real shame that the dead are forced to play those types of games when they could spend their time actually, you know, resting."
Daniel took out his flashlight, flipped it on, and led the way.
"Narration or no narration?" he said back to her, "I could go either way. The brave Taxi driver and his cop sidekick began their journey into a world of mystery and danger. The scent of uneaten corndogs hang in their air and the rust of old amusement park rides now tinted their outlook on the world. The brave adventurers fear not the darkness or the dread of being all alone in an empty park that has been closed for six years due to mysterious unexplained deaths that occurred, but-"

"Wait a second, did you just call me a sidekick?" Sae asked. "Well, can't be helped. I'll leave you to your delusions, though I think I at least deserve equal billing."
Daniel didn't respond as he stopped, pulled a piece of white chalk out of his pocket, and scribbled down an X on the pavement. Now as he walked, he stopped every few feet and marked the spot with another X.
He turned his head towards Sae, "Just in case anybody shows up and wants to join us."

"You mean interesting people," he replied as he scribbled another one and continued on. It was about five Xs later when an eerie fog began to fill the area, "Hmm?"
