Aaron had only spent a week or two in Japan, but already the place had left a profound impact on him. His first encounter with that strange robot in the woman's apartment had been surreal, but not as strange as being called a 'Mashin', whatever that was. Aaron was fairly confident that he was a human, and not a 'Mashin'. Still, the name sounded good.
Right now, he was at a shopping mart not too far from the hotel, stocking up on food. He was glad that this place stocked milk and a couple of other bits of western food.

Ken stood in the market, helmet atop his head, debating between a few vegetables. "Hrm, carrots would be good for curry, but taro root is nice for a mild mochi. Though, I could get scallions and make a nice duck stew."

As Aaron tried to reach a lower shelf, he brushed his jacket back, momentarily revealing the Break Gunner, which was held in a shiny new custom holster. He'd commissioned it a while back and had only just picked it up. There were even little pockets to keep Shift Cars in.

Ken sighed, tapping his helmet. "No, not scallions. Duck is expensive in Tokyo. Oh, and the mochiko's not on sale, but potatoes and curry base are. Well, that settles it." As Ken walked to get the curry base, he hadn't noticed Aaron, and half-tripped over him, his shin knocking against the Break Gunner and Ken's eyes narrowing.

Aaron felt something press against his side, forcing the Break Gunner against his side. He managed not to show any signs of pain, but quickly realised he was in someone's way.
"So sorry! So sorry!" he said in his most broken Japanese.

Ken blinked, and chuckled a bit. "Don't worry about it." He said in rather plain English. "I wasn't watching where I was walking. Bit of a bad habit when I'm hung over and over-focused."

There was only one curry base in the mart, and it was slowly being carried out by...something. Whatever it was, it wasn't visible to the naked eye. To the others, it just looked like a curry base was floating out of the mart.

Ken spotted it, and quickly and silently walked over, grabbing the box. "Well then, what do we have here?" He smiled, though his voice dripped with hostility.

"No! This curry base is mine!" An equally hostile voice shouted back. The curry base yanked itself out of Ken's hands and moved towards the door again.

Without missing a beat, Ken stomped the ground, sending a tile from the floor flying to smack into the curry base, sending it flying straight to him, and caught the box. "Somebody doesn't read the situation well. You're obviously not human, so why don't you show yourself?"

Ken narrowed his eyes, glaring at the Roidmude. "Really? Not even an evolved, and you had the sheer bad luck to run into me? You have to be arguably the WORST Roidmude in existence." Ken laughed, pulling out Rugged Field, and beginning his transformation.
