There was a Phantom in AGHS, posing as a student. Ren had already been here to meet another mage, but he had to just rush right after it for safety reasons. Of course he lost sight of it inside the school and had to keep moving and hiding to avoid being seen by faculty before leaving the schoolgrounds.
He sighed. How was he going to do this? Sure, he could detect magic to an extent, but Phantoms didn't work that way... Shit. He was stuck here for now.

Ken was contracted to do some moderate repairs to the science building at AGHS, which had taken some damage from an experiment gone wrong, though he had ulterior motives for accepting. Bull had detected Roidmude activity in the area, and Ken was tasked to investigate. So he sat on the scaffolding, applying spackle and waiting for a sign of the Roidmude.
Ren considered just sneaking back into the school, but he might put the students at risk. Granted, not making a move might do the same. He sighed and ran around the outside of the school, trying to find a spot he could make a break for to hide. He slowed and climbed the fence before running for a nearby open door. This area looked like it wasn't part of the main school building, so it should be a safe spot, he hoped.

Ken smirked as he heard footsteps below him, and hopped down from the scaffold, directly in front of Ren. "Not another step, Roidmude!" He shouted, pointing directly at Ren, before his belt sighed. "Ken, he is not a Roidmude."
Ren looked at the man and stumbled back when he had fallen in front of him. Ren looked him over and glanced to his belt, "Roidmude? That's a new one. Unless you have a really strange other name you call Phantoms," he said. He toyed with the lapis lazuli ring he wore, but the man had no magic about him.

Ken shrugged, while Bull manifested his emoticon-like face on the Driver and began to speak. "The Roidmudes are a type of android capable of evolution and, in certain situations, self-propogation, and are incredibly dangerous to mankind, and thus must be eliminated." Ken just chuckled, and said "Yeah, that."
Ren nodded, "Phantoms are magic. Mythical creatures, kind of. They kill their host and assume their identity. One of them was a student here. Now that student is a monster waiting to go off and kill people."

Ken blinked. "If his were a few years ago, I'd have called you insane. But that's no more insane than the monsters I fight, so it seems we have a common goal here. The protection of civilians. I propose a collab." He smiled, holding out his hand to shake.
Ren nodded and clasped hands with him, "Yeah, deal. For the mutual protection of the youth." Besides, he knew one of them, and even if she were a mage, he was going to do the fighting. He lowered his hand after shaking and looked around, "Well, I came in here to hide. I'm probably not allowed on these grounds as an outsider. Why are you here? Are you hiding, or actually here?"

Ken pulled out a guest pass, chuckling. "Construction worker doing repairs. Easy way to get pretty much anywhere. Since I'm a foreman, I could pass you as an adviser or something, so you don't have to sneak."
"Please do, if you could," Ren said. Of course, if he'd thought it through, he could have magic'd himself a fake pass, but he didn't know what they looked like, so he couldn't make it from scratch. Now he started to think about just making a copy so he could wander around.
"Remind me to see that pass for a few minutes later," he said.
"I can't detect Phantoms," Ren admitted, "It knows what I look like, though. If it sees me it'll probably react. I didn't get a good view of his human form."
