Chase was posing as a buyer at an art auction in Paris. This wasn't some underground, black market event; no, this was an actual, completely up and up (or as far as they had looked, anyway) event. One of the buyers was with Glass Curtain, but they didn't know who, and a background check on every buyer had turned up nothing that could help them outright identify him or her.
There was only one assumption as to why Glass Curtain had an interest in this auction, but even that wasn't concrete. There was an incredibly rare painting being auctioned, and the President of France was going to be there to hand it over to the new buyer. It was assumed to be an assassination attempt, and that just couldn't happen.
Of course, Chase figured his presence was only because it was Glass Curtain. If it was just any assassination attempt, it would be taken care of by the French, who would receive a tip-off. But this was personal.
