Relationships:
One of the most enthusiastic of the Beacon Institute's action scientists, Jack is a born adventurer: he has an insatiable curiosity, loves traveling, has a somewhat childlike joi de vivre, and possesses an almost-stupid capacity for risk-taking. Unfortunately, he's not really much of an actual scientist; his brain just isn't wired for it. There are times where he can get a bit self-reflective and let this bother him, but for the most part, he doesn't dwell on it - after all, he still has the best job in the world, right? Still, Jack isn't stupid; and while he's aware that he's not likely to be the smartest person in most rooms, he does make the effort to be as informed and knowledgeable as he can - indeed, it often bothers him when people don't make this effort, and it drives him crazy when someone shows no interest whatsoever in bettering themselves.
Jack shows a strange distrust for robots; he can't really explain why, but something about them just bothers him.
Jack is also a huge fan of Bruce Lee, and will occasionally drop quotes from the man.
Hero Stuff
Name: Kamen Rider Meteor
Type Of Hero: Kamen Rider
Henshin Device: Meteor Driver
Henshin Sequence: I will decide your fate!
Forms:
- Form Name: Meteor
Image/ Description: A-TAH!
Motif: Comets, space
Color Scheme: Black, silver, blue
Transformation: See “Henshin Sequence”
Fighting Style: Having been a huge fan of Bruce Lee from an early age, Jack has achieved a fair degree of mastery in Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do. JKD is a mixed style, drawing on elements from a number of other styles, including Wing Chun, Tae Kwon Do, Savate, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (although he hates ground fighting), among others; one of the core principles of the style is interception of incoming attacks ("Jeet Kune Do," in fact, means "Way of the Intercepting Fist"). Jack himself relies heavily on kicks, but is also capable of performing techniques such as the famous one-inch punch.
Weapons: Jack is equipped with the Meteor Galaxy, a device which allows him to use a few different attacks, depending on which of the three Galaxy Levers he throws:
-Mars Lever: A projection of the planet Mars (called “Mars Breaker”) appears around Jack’s right fist, allowing him to hit foes with flaming punches
-Jupiter Lever: A projection of the planet Jupiter (called the “Jupiter Hammer”) appears over his right hand, allowing him to both strike with incredibly hard punches, and deflect attacks
-Saturn Lever: Equips with Jack with Saturn Sorcery: a projection of the planet Saturn and its rings, which he can throw as cutting weapons.
Abilities: Meteor form grants Jack the superhuman strength, speed, durability, and agility typical of henshin heroes
Finisher(s):
-Starlight Shower: Jack's right fist becomes charged with cosmic energy, and he throws a series of extremely rapid jabs, with the energy leaving a comet-like blue "tail" behind his fist. He can also use this at a distance, hurling the energy at an opponent,
-Meteor Tornado: Jack's foot becomes charged with cosmic energy, and he performs a series of rapid spinning kicks.
-Meteor Strike: A fairly standard flying sidekick-style Rider Kick.
Form Name: Meteor Storm
Image/ Description: Meteor STOOOOOOOOOOORM!
Motif: Meteors, space, lightning
Color Scheme: Blue, gold
Transformation: My fate is to bring the storm!
Fighting Style: Stays more or less the same
Weapons: Jack still has access to the Meteor Galaxy in this form; however, he also gains a staff called the Meteor Storm Shaft, as well as a top-like weapon called the Storm Topper.
Abilities: All of his aforementioned superhuman abilities are boosted further in this form.
Finisher(s):
- Meteor Storm Punisher: Jack inserts the Topper into the end of the Meteor Storm Shaft and yanks on the pull, causing the pinwheel-like blade on the Topper to spin and gather cosmic energy. Jack releases the Topper, and it travels - either across the ground or through the air - to his opponent, which is cut through.
-Meteor Storm Strike: A stronger version of the Meteor Strike.
Other Equipment:- Meteorstar – his motorcycle
History
As far back as he can remember, Jack always looked up to his older brother, Brian - something that might seem strange, given that Jack's inclination was always toward exploring and having adventures, whereas Brian's tended to be more toward studying. Nevertheless, the two always got along extremely well, and Brian was usually happy to indulge whatever ridiculous adventure Jack wanted to go on. In return, Jack was quite fascinated by Brian's favorite area of study: astrophysics, and space in general, though Jack wasn't always quite able to wrap his head around all the concepts. Jack also became a devotee of Bruce Lee when he was eight years old and watched Game of Death on cable (the fact that Game is a terrible movie never seemed to enter his mind); this led to him seeking out a Jeet Kune Do teacher, and Jack eventually got quite good at the style. When Brian finished graduate school, he got a job at the Beacon Institute, even managing to pull some strings and get Jack a job there, too, once his little brother was done with college. Many at the Institute were skeptical of Jack at first, but his enthusiasm and adventurous nature proved to have uses of their own, and he has come to be a reasonably well-respected action scientist - as long as he's paired with someone who can actually do the science itself.
Up until about a year ago, that someone was usually Brian...but on an assignment in an Arctic research facility, something unexpected happened. The facility was attacked; the power was cut, and most of the researchers were killed - including Brian. Jack managed to very briefly fight the attacker (astonishingly, it seems there was only one), but it was dark, and he couldn't get a good look at them; their general body shape, however, didn't seem quite human, and they were incredibly strong. The attacker also left a huge gash just under Jack's collarbone, and he was only saved by the intervention of one of the other survivors, who managed to chase the creature off. Not long after, Jack passed out from blood loss. When he woke up, he was on a helicopter, being airlifted back to the US with the handful of other survivors. When he was fully recovered - both from his injuries and from the loss of his brother - Jack returned to active duty, but was given a new piece of equipment: a device called the Meteor Driver, which would allow him to summon a suit of powered armor and enhance his fighting abilities. Following this, Jack seemed to find himself assigned to a series of cases that involve monsters - suggesting that someone at the Institute believes the bizarre story about what happened at the base, and wants to give Jack the chance to avenge Brian's death...
