Strengths:

• She's not only an excellent swimmer, but she can actually breath under the water. Whenever her skin comes into contact with water, her skins turns a shiny, translucent blue-ish green and she gains gills and webbing between her fingers and toes. 
• In and out of water, she has extremely sharp teeth and a practically iron stomach.
• No matter how much she eats she never seems to gain any weight.

Weaknesses:

• Drying off dispels her "fish mode", so extreme heat can be a bother. Also, places without any water.
• Her anger is tied into her inherent primal urges and she may go off on a rampage if provoked. She will go off on you if you fuck with the ocean and its inhabitants in any way.  
• Detests hard work and/or effort (or at least it seems that way)

Overview: Summer's personal philosophy is why worry, just enjoy life while you got it. School, jobs, why worry about it? Just lay back and chill by the pool. Sure, sometimes you need to fight a monster or two, but hey that's what happens when you've got super powers. She doesn't plan for the future, the only thing she gives much thought is what she's going to have for dinner later. 

She may seem lax, but even she has a dream. She wants to study the ocean and its inhabitants. She wants to pave a better future for her underwater friends. She has big dreams, but not always the attitude to accomplish those dreams. She'd rather reach the goal without having to go on the journey.

History

Summer's father was a fisherman, like his father before him and his father. When Steph was a child, he told her about the time he was lost at sea after a particularly nasty storm. He was saved by only what he could describe as a mermaid and brought to the shore of a nearby island after falling off the deck of his boat. It was three days before he would be rescued and he spent that entire time with the mermaid.

Nine months later, her father was once again out at sea when he heard a peculiar cry. That's when he found a baby floating on an empty turtle shell. He took that baby home and raised her as his own. Steph didn't particularly believed the story until she hit puberty and discovered she had grown gills after taking a bath.

Some girls would have freaked the hell out, Steph thought it was the coolest thing ever. Her father had always been supportive of her, but urged her to hide her abilities from people that might not be as understanding. Despite this warning, Stepth spent as much time at the beach as possible, as if it was her second home. Even if people did find out about her, it wouldn't bother her one bit.

She's been in university for quite some time working on her PhD in Marine Biology. She doesn't work nearly as hard as her classmates and only puts in the minimum effort to pass by on a thin thread and has been in danger of being kicked out several times. She is the very example of brilliant but lazy.
