History
Kyoko grew up idolizing heroes. It didn't help that her mother used to be one herself, the Electro Human Wave Tackle. Her mother had faked her own death and went into hiding so she could potentially raise a family without having the forces of evil knocking on her door all the time. Kyoko didn't hate her mother for this betrayal of heroism, but instead understood that people have to follow their own path.
Her mother's time as a hero was over and done, it was time for Kyoko to step up to the plate. Trying to be a hero as a normal person with no special abilities whatsoever is a good way to get yourself killed. Nobody told Kyoko that.. At the age of 17 she ran into a burning building to save a young girl from a fiery demise. She failed, finding herself trapped inside the raging inferno..
She woke up the next day in a hospital, or what she perceived to be a hospital. She was greeted by certain shadowy individuals who had revealed to her that they knew all about Kyoko's mother and her past. They had no intention of harming Kyoko or her mother, or at least so they claimed. They instead wished to assist and Kyoko's war against the forces of darkness.
After pulling Kyoko from the fire, they had altered her heavily damaged body into that of a fully functioning cyborg, much like her mother. Indeed, using the near exact same schematics. They released Kyoko back into the world soon after and she couldn't believe it. She had finally obtained her dream of becoming a real hero..or had she..?
