Overview: Aaron puts on the front of a stereotypical hardboiled detective one might find in a pulp fiction magazine. He seems aloof and distant, often providing his own semi-witty quips for any given situation, almost coming to the point of seeming insensitive. Once the shell is chipped away, there lies a very different Aaron to the one that comes across.
The real Aaron has very romanticised notions about being a PI in New York and what it means. So much so, in fact, that it regularly blinds him to reality. He’s actually just an unfortunate schmuck with confidence issues. He often wants to be the centre of attention, and will gladly admit that. Though he may come across as annoying, he just wants to be loved.

In the year 1980 was born a legend. That legend…was not Aaron G Mosely. Aaron himself was born and raised in San Francisco. It was a decent standard of living, and Aaron never wanted for anything. Indeed, those were the wonder years. Then the Fates saw it fit to deal Aaron and his family an unfair hand. His parents took a gamble, and got into crippling debt. They were forced out of their home and had to take up residence with relatives both close and distant.
Aaron’s education was the first aspect of his life to suffer. He was forced to constantly change schools, never staying in the same one for longer than a single semester, and his grades started to slip. He only just made it out of high school, and managed to get into a community college course. To escape the troubles of his everyday life, he turned to books, finding that he enjoyed the detective novels best. He thought to himself that he’d like to do that for a living.
After scraping together the necessary funds through doing odd jobs, he signed up for a PI class. It was difficult, but he earned his PI license with no short amounts of sweat, tears, and hours of hitting the books. Afterwards, he moved to New York to ply his trade. He’d always been told in his childhood that if he couldn’t make it in New York, he couldn’t make it anywhere. He found a place to live that doubled as an office, and so began his career as a detective.
His first case involved looking for a missing person, and it took him to one of those abandoned warehouses that seem to be in every major city. He found the person lying on the ground with what appeared to be an orange toy car in his hand, as well as a scrunched up piece of paper. This person also had unnaturally red skin. Aaron pocketed the car and took a look at the paper. It gave details on an address in the lower west side, so he went investigating.
The address turned out to be one of those dilapidated buildings that seem to be in every major city. In that building, he found the Break Gunner and more Shift Cars, including one that was in an unbreakable glass box. He spirited them back to his apartment, referring his case to the police and spending the next week studying the ins and outs of the Shift Cars. When he discovered what they could do, he realised, beyond a doubt, that he’d taken his first steps into a much larger world.
